Androgynous

I'm trying to approach dating a bit differently than before by being upfront about something that has led to some awkwardness in previous relationships. Basically, I feel gender is a fluid thing among masculine/feminine traits, and that I'm very balanced for a man. By fluid gender I mean that I am not content with societal norms defining what is a man and what is a woman. I think male and female genders are naturally very fluid, and I identify with both in many ways. I'm very much a guy, but wanting someone else who isn't defined by all gender norms, who feels free to be herself, and is ok with others who don't necessarily fit into what society says they should be. That, or someone who also simply isn't content with or attracted to "normal."

I'm pretty normal in lots of ways, reasonably smart and attractive, in shape, average height, healthy, sane, nice, have a future. I don't wear makeup or anything like that (although I do go to thrift stores and shop in the women section because the clothes fit me better, size wise). I'm not a crier or too dramatic, but rather can be very nurturing and empathetic. I enjoy a great deal of autonomy, yet don't need to be in 'command.' I'm more bookish and somewhat of an environmentalist. I guess that I'm a bit androgynous for a man, somewhat physically and somewhat mentally. Day to day I look like a skater kind of guy, and am probably cuter in a pretty way compared to most of the viking descended men of Minnesota due to being slender and having big eyes.

For the time being, I'm resisting the use of words like genderqueer, queer, Androgyne, Bigender, etc. I appreciate them, but my personal feelings are more along the lines of rejecting black and white gender binaries. I believe in shades of grey. Pangender sounds like the best description here.

I'll leave it there for now. If you identify with some of this, would like to discuss more specifics, or if I don't sound totally weird and some of this sounds right to you, then I'd love to hear from you.

Oh, and I dont always dress/look as goofy as the picture. Posting for this is new for me, so Im sticking with a bit of anonymity right now.
